Beaujolais Nouveau is more than just a wine; it’s a celebration! This unique French red wine traditionally hails from the Beaujolais region and is made using the Gamay grape. What sets it apart is its early release—just weeks after harvest, it hits the shelves on the third Thursday of November each year.
The tradition of Beaujolais Nouveau began in the 19th century, when winemakers would celebrate the end of the harvest with a little party, toasting with their new wine. This joyful practice quickly caught on, and soon it became a nationwide event in France. Today, it’s celebrated around the world, marking the arrival of the new vintage with festivities and fun.
At Lesterland Winery, we’re proud to honor this cherished tradition by showcasing the exceptional quality of grapes grown here locally by Central Valley farmers.
